Multiple Supplier Costing

If you regularly use more than one supplier for (eg) toughened/tempered glass, you can show the relative cost of buying the required products from several suppliers. This is particularly relevant if the suppliers have different rates and different minimum charging areas, as the overall cost will vary depending on the variety of sizes with an order. This option will show the cheapest supplier for any given mix of work.

For example, in the screen shot below, the three suppliers have different (fictitious) rates for both the glass and the edge polishing.

100% glass is only £17 per sq.m for the glass, but charges £5 per linear metre for polishing, however, Pilkingtons charge £22 per sq.m of glass, but only £2 per linear metre for polishing, making them £27 cheaper for the overall job.

As jobs become more complex, it can sometimes be difficult to see past the basic rate and look at the overall comparative cost of each bought in job.
