Georgian and Lead Layouts – Gridlock

A design tool for Georgian Bars, Square/Rectangular Leads and Diamond Leads.

Please watch our video below for a demonstration of the capabilities of the program.

Georgian Bars
This includes facilities for arranging rectangular Georgian grids with print-outs tailored to the type of grid for fast and reproducible manufacture. Allows manual positioning of Georgian bars when mullions and transoms cannot be moved. Here’s sample printouts of the customer approval and factory assembly sheet

Square/Rectangular Leads
This includes facilities for arranging square or rectangular grids with print-outs tailored to the type of grid for fast and reproducible manufacture. Allows manual positioning of leaded grids when mullions and transoms cannot be moved. The grid can be printed on an A0 plotter for the shop floor to work from. Here’s sample printouts of the customer approval and factory assembly sheet

Diamond Leads
This includes facilities for arranging diamond grids with print-outs tailored for fast reproducible manufacture, with easy to read shop floor instructions, and choice of diamond being centred to the cross or centre of a diamond, across the whole window or an individual pane. The diamond layout can be printed on an A0 plotter for the shop floor to work from. Here’s sample printouts of the customer approval and factory assembly sheet

Import from window design programs and Job Storage
This includes facilities for reading transfer files from several order processing systems including Glass Office, Windowmaker (Windowmaker Software), Window Designer (First Degree Systems), Evolution (Business Micro’s), Caliburn (Merlin Software International) and Eden (Windowlink).

It’s important to know that in some of these links all of the layouts can be transfered so that no design work is required in Gridlock, and the Georgian/lead layouts can be sent straight to the factory. The layout information will be permanently stored against each job for future reference, for warranty and remake purposes.

Machinery links

Gridlock can link to several glass industry machines –

  • MTL spacer bar saw (for cutting Georgian bars)
  • Atlantic spacer bar saw (for cutting Georgian bars)
  • Forel Line server (for Georgian slits in Edgetech Superspacer)
  • GED leading machine (for applying leads to the glass)
  • CADRAM leading machine (for applying leads to the glass)
  • Rottler und Rudiger Georgian robot (for cutting and assembling Georgian bars into spacer bars) – see below for a video of the R&R Robot in action
